Faces of Alkota: Meet Lynette

Faces of Alkota

Today we’re excited to be introducing something (and someone!) to the blog: Faces of Alkota. We enjoyed introducing our new president so much, we decided to make this a series on the blog.

Each Faces of Alkota post will feature a different Alkota employee. We’ll tell their story, how they got started with Alkota Cleaning Systems, and a little bit about their family and background.

The Face of Alkota, Literally

It’s fitting that for our first “Faces of Alkota” installment, we decided to go with Lynette van Wyk. As our friendly front desk receptionist, Lynette is truly the first face our customers and employees see when they visit, or call, the office.

Born and raised in central South Dakota, Lynette is one of six children and the only girl. She has been married for 40 years now, and is blessed with three daughters.

Lynette’s time at Alkota began in the print shop, but she transitioned to the front desk about 17 years ago.

Even with over 17 years of Alkota experience, “I’m still considered one of the newest workers,” says Lynette. “People tend to stay and stay and stay, and I think that speaks well of the company and its leadership.”

A Typical Day at the Office

For Lynette, a typical day involves answering and directing calls, as well as a variety of other administrative tasks.

“We all help each other here,” she says.

One of the things we pride ourselves on here at Alkota, is that you’ll always reach a live person if you give us a call.

“That’s mentioned at all the conventions, that there’s always a person answering the phone here,” she says. “And that makes me happy.”

One of the best parts about the job, in Lynette’s opinion, is getting to know and visit with our great Alkota dealers.

“I get to talk to people from all over—we have the nicest people,” she says. “They aren’t kidding when they talk about the ‘Alkota Family.'”

When she isn’t manning the phone lines at our office, you can probably find Lynette reading, gardening, and spending time with her family. We’re thankful to have her on our team!

We’ll continue to introduce more of our Alkota Family to you here on the blog, as well as keeping you up-to-date on the latest pressure washer and cleaning industry news.
